IT'S ABOUT YOUR ART, NOT THE NUMBER OF PAGE VIEWS YOU'RE TOTING AROUND. DON'T FOCUS ON POPULARITY, IT RUINS THE DA EXPERIENCE. Thank you.

Unfortunately, they're really only useful if you have a subscription. You can put them in your shoutboard or your journals as :thumbthe#ofthedeviation: (for instance, this stamp would be :thumb68044206:, you can find the deviation number in the URL). Otherwise though, if you have a blog or a LiveJournal or something, you can save them, upload them to your own space or provider (Photobucket, etc.) and use them there. They just give people who check your page a little bit more insight into who you are. :)

Personaly, I'm proud that I finally reached over 10k pageviews. :D It means more people are seeing my art! I think pageviews per day really help me keep track of how many visitors I get. I don't see why it can't be about both.

I can understand your point. Pageviews and/or comments and favorites are good for motivational purposes, but the point I'm really getting at is caring more about how many people look at your art than the art itself. I quit deviantART for a year because I was too focused on how many people saw my art and I'd lost track of why I started drawing in the first place--because I enjoy it. I'm proud of my pageviews as well, but this stamp is more against people who create art for the sole purpose of popularity and don't realize the deeper reasons for (and joys of) creating it. In other words, the way I used to be.
